MongoDB Developer Job Description

A MongoDB developer is a person who develops applications and software programs that work with MongoDB.

MongoDB developers typically use the MongoDB database to store and process large amounts of data.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a MongoDB Developer to work on a new project. The project is top secret, but we can tell you that it involves a lot of data. If you’re the right person for the job, you’ll be able to work with us to design and implement a MongoDB database that can handle the data.

MongoDB Developer Duties:

• Develop, implement, and maintain applications and systems that integrate MongoDB technology
• Co-author, review, and update documents and records
• Develop, implement, and maintain applications using MongoDB
• Contribute to professional learning communities
• Provide technical feedback and advice to other team members
• Actively seek opportunities for learning and growth
• Develop new and enhanced applications for the Mongo platform

MongoDB Developer Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of relational database design and optimization
• Experience using MongoDB
• Excellent SQL and NoSQL query skills
• Strong knowledge of JSON and JavaScript
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
• Experience with agile development methodologies and test-driven development

Requirements And Skills:

• Develop and maintain MongoDB-powered applications using MongoDB 3.4, MongoDB 3.6, MongoDB 3.7, MongoDB 3.10, and MongoDB 3.11
• Automate software deployment, and record MongoDB metrics in MongoDB Atlas, MongoDB Enterprise Grid and MongoDB Enterprise Manager
• Design and implement data pipelines and data storage solutions
• Conduct and document QA/QC testing
• Implement and maintain automated testing
• Implement backup and recovery mechanisms
• Maintain production systems, resolve production issues, and exceed production SLAs
• Implementing operational improvement activities
