A store clerk or sales clerk is a person who works in a retail or department store and helps customers find and purchase items.

A clerk’s duties may include greeting customers as they enter the store, serving customers’ needs, assisting customers in locating items for purchase, organizing merchandise, and getting customers to pay, carry their purchases to their cars, or help load items into customers’ vehicles.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Store Clerk who can help us keep our store organized and tidy. The Store Clerk will be responsible for stocking shelves, cleaning up the sales floor, and helping customers find what they need. If you have a passion for organization and customer service, then we want you to be our Store Clerk!

Store Clerk Duties:

  • Assists management in running an efficient store
  • Unload trucks, put away merchandise, and otherwise prepare the store
  • Assist customers with any questions or concerns
  • Inform management of any change in inventory or pricing
  • Assist management with closing sales
  • Clean and sanitize the store

Store Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Experience in past retail or customer service positions
  • Ability to process payments
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory levels of customer service
  • Proven ability to prioritize and work within defined schedule
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
