A test technician is an individual that performs essential tests on the product and/or product components prior to shipping.

A test technician has a professional responsibility to ensure that the prescribed testing procedures are performed in accordance with all applicable regulatory guidelines and are conducted to minimize any risk to the public safety.

Test technicians are present during the product’s manufacturing process.

They perform testing to ensure the product meets all specifications and regulatory requirements.

As such, it is important that test technicians are properly trained and qualified.

Employers should require test technicians to have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Test Technician to work with us in our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic equipment. They will be responsible for setting up and conducting tests on our products and reporting their findings. Test Technician Duties:

  • Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and electronics
  • Ensure that computer parts and hardware are installed correctly
  • Consult on, and perform routine maintenance on, electronics
  • Test electronic products prior to distribution or sale
  • Work closely with corporate clients on projects
  • Understand and abide by OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the standard safety policies
  • Ensure that the building’s electronic interfaces are up to date
  • Maintain the ventilation systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Test Technician Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, technology, or science; knowledge of electronics, materials, and relationships, and of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of testing techniques
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test results

Requirements And Skills:

  • Follow company standards and instructions for operating and testing computer hardware, software, and network systems, as well as maintain desk and work area
  • Assist with programmed tests and general troubleshooting of computer hardware
  • Develop and maintain test documentation and compose test scripts for a variety of automated testing methods
  • Responsibly troubleshoot and resolve computer problems
  • Maintain and revise test procedures as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
