An EDI analyst is someone who evaluates the compatibility of a system’s EDI software with an organization’s existing software and data.

An EDI analyst analyzes a company’s internal processes and software in order to assist the organization in the implementation of EDI.

They work with business managers and IT departments to determine a company’s EDI needs.

An EDI analyst also identifies potential EDI software issues and problems, and develops solutions for these problems.

We’re looking for an EDI Analyst to help us improve our data quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience working with EDI systems and be able to quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise. EDI Analyst Duties:

  • Design, construct, test, and deploy EDI systems
  • Develop EDI processes
  • Work with suppliers to set-up electronic data interchange systems
  • Analyze data trends and report on EDI system’s functionality
  • Understand EDI standards, protocols, and terminology
  • Perform EDI transformation and mapping
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and other parties as needed

EDI Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Receive, interpret, and process electronic data exchange documents in EDI format
  • Communicate with internal departments and customers
  • Analyze and troubleshoot EDI messaging and data
  • Develop and implement EDI policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest EDI standards, regulations, and initiatives
  • Attend training sessions and conferences
  • Conduct research and report on EDI-related issues
  • Participate in new projects as needed

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information management, or related field
  • 3+ years proven experience in EDI/XML analysis, implementation, and problem-solving
  • Strong knowledge of EDI transaction sets and terminology
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas
