Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Engineering Consultant to join our team. As an Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to our clients. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our clients’ projects are completed on time and within budget.

Engineering Consultant Duties:

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop engineering plans, specifications and designs
  • Perform laboratory testing, field inspections, and surveys
  • Perform research and investigations
  • Design equipment, facilities, structures, and systems
  • Provide professional technical advice to management, clients, and contractors
  • Attend meetings
  • Prepare reports
  • Staff engineers
  • Perform other related duties as required

Engineering Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Work with architects and engineers during all phases of a project, including design, estimating, and budgeting
  • Sketch and document existing conditions
  • Calculate quantities and costs, including markups, markup points, and profit margins
  • Understand and build using mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Apply codes, standards, and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records, including logs, inspections, reports, and correspondence
  • Work with vendors to develop and implement initiatives to reduce costs and increase efficiencies
  • Understand the risks associated with certain projects, such as civil, structural, or mechanical repairs or renovations
  • Communicate with clients to build and maintain relationships
  • Support successful bidding, negotiation, and award of projects
  • Assist in hiring and training personnel
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety
