Order Clerk Job Description

An order clerk is a person who gets orders from customers and places them in the correct queue.

Order clerks are responsible for organizing orders, recording information, and calculating inventory.

They may also be responsible for maintaining customer records, receiving payment, and reconciling customer accounts.

Personal characteristics that are desirable for order clerks include strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

In addition, employers are interested in having order clerks who are detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow guidelines.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Order Clerk to work in our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a warehouse environment and be able to lift heavy boxes.

Order Clerk Duties:

• Provide accurate and precise information into database system, including invoices, purchase orders, work orders, and monitor inventory levels
• Conduct research on new and existing vendors to ensure the best pricing
• Verify the accuracy of all invoices and purchase orders
• Research and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of all financial activities

Order Clerk Responsibilities:

• Experience in a retail environment
• Proven customer service skills
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills

Requirements And Skills:

• Process customer orders, answer customer calls, and maintain inventory
• Assist with packing and shipping of orders
• Assist with receiving inventory and customer refunds
• Prepare invoices and invoices
• Conduct market research and assist in the generation of sales leads
• Prepare reports on sales performance
• Perform other duties as assigned
