A tire technician is a person who repairs tires, including changing tires, fixing punctures, and handling general maintenance.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Tire Technician who is passionate about cars and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with tires and be able to perform all duties related to tire maintenance and repair. Tire Technician Duties:

  • Deal with customer issues pertaining to tires
  • Provide tire services for vehicles
  • Perform tire services
  • Track tire history using computer systems
  • Keep accurate records of work done and materials used
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections
  • Maintain and clean tire equipment as part of preventive maintenance programs

Tire Technician Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain, vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Assume responsibility for purchasing and selling tires, batteries, and related accessory products
  • Test and install new tires and wheels, and mount and balance tires
  • Check alignment and adjust air pressure
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, fluid levels, air filter replacement, and tire installation
  • Provide warranty claims and services that comply with manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Train and mentor other technicians
  • Monitor inventory levels, negotiate prices, and order replacement parts
  • Resolve service issues, provide customer service, and provide feedback on performance

Requirements And Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of tire experience, ideally in a retail setting
  • Ability to repair and service tires
  • Knowledge of tire repair equipment repair
  • Knowledge of automotive and truck equipment
  • Ability to diagnose automotive and truck equipment
