The WebSphere administrator is an employee who manages, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the WebSphere application server software.

We’re looking for a WebSphere Administrator who is highly skilled and experienced in WebSphere administration and who can provide expert level support for our WebSphere environment.

WebSphere Administrator Duties:

  • Develop and maintain server and database configurations
  • Ensure systems are secure through hardening and patching
  • Ensure that systems are running at optimal levels by monitoring performance
  • Ensure that backup policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensure that disaster recovery policies are in place
  • Maintain connectivity for WebSphere and Middleware services
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery technologies
  • Implement Extended Support for WebSphere
  • Ensure that systems are running at optimal levels by monitoring performance
  • Ensure that backup policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensure that disaster recovery policies are in place
  • Maintain connectivity for WebSphere and Middleware services

WebSphere Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor WebSphere application servers, middleware servers, databases, and applications
  • Manage application performance and availability, including capacity planning, capacity tuning, and load testing
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor WebSphere application servers, middleware servers, databases, and applications
  • Manage operating system and network security, and backup and recovery procedures
  • Perform system administration, including routine server maintenance, operating system maintenance, and patch management
  • Conduct hardware upgrades, such as purchasing new servers, upgrading memory, and replacing storage devices
  • Perform system administration tasks
  • Maintain and update test environments to meet business requirements
  • Ensure compliance with application, operating system, and data security requirements

Requirements And Skills:

  • -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 2+ years proven experience administering WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Integration Developer
  • 2+ years proven experience administering WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Integration Developer
  • -Experience administering and monitoring a WebSphere Application Server cluster
