Audit Manager Job Description

The Audit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the audit function, including employee hiring and performance evaluation, the planning and implementation of audit programs, the supervision of audit staff, and budgeting.

Audit Managers will also have oversight of the preparation of the firms external audit report.

Individuals in this role may supervise other auditors and support staff and may be required to visit client sites.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced professional with a proven track record in managing and conducting audits. They will be able to provide leadership and direction to audit teams, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Audit Manager Duties:

  • Evaluate all aspects of business operations by conducting and analyzing audits and assessments
  • Prepare and submit reports, including recommendations and/or action plans
  • Perform assessments to determine company performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Inform management about audit results
  • Prepare and oversee the implementation of corrective action plans
  • Promote a positive work environment by motivating and encouraging staff
  • Provide leadership and support to employees

Audit Manager Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, update, and file all construction contracts, SOW, and subcontracts
  • Review and analyze construction schedules, documents, and reports
  • Assist with project budgeting, and oversee all cost budgets
  • Advise on contract changes, as required, and ensure proper documentation
  • Create and maintain electronic records of all project business, including timesheets, invoices, change orders, and correspondence
  • Govern the accounting and finance functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials and project expenditures
  • Oversee the collection and disbursement of revenues, including contract billings, change orders, and payments
  • Maintain and update the accounting system, including preconstruction, construction, and post-construction activities
  • Lead and facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual project audits
  • Oversee and oversee all financial activities

Requirements And Skills:

  • At least three years experience in auditing of financial statements
  • Previous experience as a Manager or Senior Manager in the audit function
  • Experience preparing, drafting and reviewing audit work papers
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing concepts
  • Ability to provide analytical support to audit partners
  • Experience with generally accepted
