We’re looking for a French teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the French language and culture and be able to effectively communicate with students. They will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. French Teacher Duties

  • Provide instruction in French language, literature, and culture to students
  • Create courses that foster student engagement with challenging and motivating content
  • Build rapport with students and ensure that they know where they stand academically
  • Develop high expectations and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  • Provide feedback to students and parents
  • Attend all school and parent meetings
  • Meet with students outside of class during their scheduled study periods
  • Provide direct instruction to students in the classroom and lab
  • Encourage student participation in class discussions
  • Uncover new teaching strategies and materials
  • Keep abreast of research and industry trends

French Teacher Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and execution of a curriculum that meets the requirements of the students, maintaining the highest educational standards
  • Assist in ongoing curriculum improvement efforts, implementing and maintaining a state of the art learning facility
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the school and district guidelines for subject matter and pedagogical practices
  • Develop and implement differentiated instructional methodologies to meet the individual needs of students
  • Develop and implement curriculum and instructional design strategies for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in student files
  • Prepare lesson plans, individual assessments, and student progress reports
  • Maintain student discipline records and record student absences
  • Work with parents to establish and maintain a positive classroom environment-Plan, organize, and conduct extracurricular activities
  • Develop and implement an ongoing professional development program for all faculty
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative work environment

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in French as a second language education or 2+ years’ teaching experience
  • Proven ability to teach French, including grammar, literature, and phonetics
  • Proven ability to follow lesson lesson plans
