Retail Assistant Manager is someone responsible for overseeing all of the store’s day-to-day activities.This person oversees the other retail assistants on the floor, making sure that they are following proper retail procedures. The Retail Assistant Manager also ensures that the customer’s needs are met, provides appropriate assistance to customers, and monitors the inventory of the store.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. The Retail Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in leading and managing the store team. The Retail Assistant Manager will also be responsible for ensuring the store is operated in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Retail Assistant Manager Duties:

  • Maintain effective customer relations, motivate staff, identify business opportunities, build and maintain relationships
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, vendors, and other members within the business community
  • Oversee daily operations of retail operation
  • Be responsible for filling and selling all product
  • Provide superior customer service and greet customers in a friendly, helpful manner
  • Maintain a full knowledge of the store’s product mix, pricing, and display to help meet sales objectives
  • Maintain a clean and organized retail environment

Retail Assistant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and motivate sales associates to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise sales associates to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain weekly schedules and budgets, and train associates to meet goals
  • Conduct regular store inspections to evaluate product positioning, merchandising, visual merchandising, visual presentation, and cleanliness
  • Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time
  • Develop, implement, and maintain new item replenishment strategies
  • Maintain weekly sales reports and record sales data on a daily basis
  • Evaluate store operations for profitability and customer flow, and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Control inventory levels
  • Maintain and update SOW and preconstruction documents, and monitor contract obligations with a goal of building relationships

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to meet/exceed sales goals; ability to delegate, motivate, and inspire people
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Skills and experience in managing inventory
  • Excellent working knowledge of operations procedures
