Welding Inspector Duties:

  • Execute proper procedures to inspect welds utilizing proper techniques and tools
  • Measure, evaluate, and inspect welds to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Carry out onsite welding inspections during various stages of construction
  • Research and evaluate existing welding methods and practices for best practices
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to welding procedures
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of inspections and test data
  • Develop safety protocols when inspecting welding
  • Research, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
  • Develop and maintain procedures, equipment, and materials for welding

Welding Inspector Responsibilities:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a welding inspector
  • Familiar with WPS, AWS, AWS D2000, AWS D1.1-1, AWS D1.1-2, ASME-B, ASME-B , AWS D1.1/D3

Requirements And Skills:

  • Check and approve welds for high-quality workmanship, in accordance with specifications
  • Manually inspect welds for conformance to specified requirements -Perform weld inspections of structural and mechanical work, including fabrications, weldments, assemblies, and vessel sections
  • Provide weld certification and record each weld as a pass or fail
