An assembly operator is someone who assembles products, machines, automobiles, or other items that are offered for sale.

Assembly operators use basic tools.

Some assembly operators use circular saws, drills, and other power tools.

Others use hand and power tools to assemble items.

Assembly operators also calculate the quantity of parts needed to assemble products.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Assembly Operator to work in our manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a production environment and will be able to operate machinery.

Assembly Operator Duties:

  • Assemble, install, and operate machines and products
  • Using written and verbal instructions, perform necessary tasks
  • Direct, coordinate, and supervise assemblers, inspectors, helpers, and others engaged in assembling products
  • Conduct routine inspections of completed assemblies
  • Prevent accidents and comply with safety regulations
  • Maintain required records of production, including cost of production, time, labor, materials used, and defective parts
  • Keep abreast of new techniques, designs, and developments in assembly industry

Assembly Operator Responsibilities:

  • Ability to consistently work at a fast pace
  • One year experience directly handling parts including bolts, nuts, washers, and fasteners
  • Ability to operate an IMT (Industrial Mobile Trolley)
  • Ability to operate a skid steers

Requirements And Skills:

  • Set up, operate, and dismantle machinery, and perform other job-related tasks
  • Grasp, load, and unload materials using machinery and hand tools
  • Document all activities using electronic and manual record-keeping systems
  • Maintain equipment and tools, and participate in preventive maintenance activities
  • Assist with inventory control, purchasing, and reporting
  • Perform other job-related duties as required
