Job Brief:

We’re looking for a General Practitioner to work in our clinic.

General Practitioner Duties:

  • Perform surgical and non-surgical procedures such as removing tumors, treating injuries and illnesses, and performing minor surgical procedures
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as taking x-rays, blood tests, and biopsies
  • Perform procedural and operative skills such as suturing and inserting needles
  • Perform examinations of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and skin
  • Perform medical examinations such as blood pressure screenings, urine/serum tests, and electrocardiograms
  • Prosecute x-rays and laboratory samples
  • Perform other duties that may be required

General Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe medications and treatments, including IVs, and oversee their administration
  • Identify patients’ needs, develop treatment plans, and order additional therapies
  • Evaluate diagnostic data to develop treatment plans
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate medical assistants, nurses, and therapists
  • Perform general surgery, including repair of hernias, gallbladders, and anal fissures
  • Enroll new patients into insurance plans
  • Maintain accurate patient files
  • Perform administrative functions, including scheduling, billing, and insurance billing
  • Meet with patients, their families, and other care team members
  • Administer vaccines and tests

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience as a general practitioner
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, treat, and manage simple and complex medical issues
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain medical clearance authorizations from insurance providers
