Residential Cleaner Job Description

Residential Cleaner is a person who cleans residential homes or flats.

Residential cleaners provide cleaning services to private homes or apartments.

They use their own cleaning supplies, including detergents, cleaning cloths, and a vacuum.

They use their own equipment, such as mops, vacuum cleaners and brooms.

They may also be responsible for providing additional services such as laundering linens and paying utility bills, such as electricity, gas, and water.

Sometimes, residential cleaners are responsible for cleaning hallways, stairways and bathrooms.

They may also be responsible for cleaning outdoor spaces, such as patios or decks.

Residential Cleaner Duties:

• Ensure all homes and apartments are clean and well-managed
• Assist in the weekly cleaning of apartments, common areas, and public areas
• Maintain records of cleanliness and sanitation in logs
• Maintain records of all cleaning materials used
• Ensure all residents have what they need
• Organize a cleaning schedule and adhere to it
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assess cleanliness of residents’ apartments on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
• Clean bathrooms and kitchens
• Clean floors, windows, and chairs
• Ensure all trash is removed
• Coordinate with property managers to ensure building is clean
• Verify clean linens have been provided
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Help with maintenance work as needed
• Assure daily tasks are accomplished in a timely manner
• Track and report all maintenance and cleaning issues

Residential Cleaner Responsibilities:

• Prepare homes for prospective tenants, including deep cleaning, staging, and minor repairs as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, elevators, and restrooms
• Clean laundry, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas, as well as the exterior of the building
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with all regulatory and company policies and procedures, using personal protective equipment, and cleaning up any hazardous spills or debris
• Provide outstanding customer service to tenants, residents, and vendors by greeting them and answering their questions
• Use effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to create and maintain effective relationships
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
