A registered dietitian (RD) is a health professional with expertise in food and nutrition who works closely with individuals to help them achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

A dietitian’s job is to help people eat well, develop healthy habits, and make behavior changes to improve their health and well-being.

Dietitians are part of an interdisciplinary health care team (which includes doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists, and psychologists).

They educate people about healthy eating and lifestyle changes.

They may work in schools, community or family clinics, hospitals, and private practice.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Registered Dietitian to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for nutrition and promoting healthy eating habits. They will be responsible for providing nutritional counseling to clients and educating them on the importance of a balanced diet. Dietitian Duties:

  • Evaluate, analyze, and formulate dietary plans for individuals and groups of patients/clients
  • Evaluate and develop nutritional programs to meet the needs of the patient/client and referring physician
  • Promote effective patient/client adherence to dietary programs
  • Evaluate and manage diet-related problems and complications
  • Develop and impart nutrition education and counseling programs
  • Communicate effectively with patients/clients, referring physicians, and other health care personnel

Dietitian Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient eating behaviors, nutritional needs, and reactions to food in clinical and community settings; provide dietetic services to improve diet compliance, prevent and treat disease, and promote health
  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans, including creating individualized meal plans; recommend changes in eating behaviors
  • Perform nutrition assessments on patients; perform appropriate testing and evaluation of patient nutritional status
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans based on patient goals; monitor patient progress towards goals
  • Perform diabetic nutrition education; counsel patients on carbohydrate counting, meal planning, and carbohydrate selections
  • Develop and implement plans to promote appropriate eating behaviors through modification of family dynamics and by providing support services
  • Screen patients for nutritional risks; implement nutritional interventions as necessary
  • Create and revise treatment plans based on patient needs and progress notes; maintain and update records
  • Advise patients and other healthcare providers on nutrition-related topics

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food service management or a related field
  • 1+ years’ experience in nutrition counseling
  • Proven experience with food and nutrition planning
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, nutritional therapeutic diets, and dietary modifications
  • Knowledge of medication administration and dietary modifications for renal disease
