Research Psychologist Duties:

  • Gather, formulate, and evaluate data and other research material
  • Distinguish between facts, assumptions, and theories
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of technical and administrative procedures
  • Create, review, revise, and update research materials
  • Develop and publish reports, journal articles, books, and presentations
  • Develop and conduct studies, tests, and surveys

Research Psychologist Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and co-workers, ensuring clients’ needs are met and clients’ satisfaction is achieved
  • Interact with clients to collect clinical and personal information, analyze data to determine psychological diagnosis, and develop effective treatment plans
  • Evaluate client treatment progress and recommend and implement changes in treatment plans
  • Manage client caseload, including meeting with clients, providing treatment, and conducting evaluations
  • Assist with the implementation of clinical initiatives, such as new treatment programs and services
  • Provide professional consultation and support to other mental health professionals
  • Support organizational initiatives by contributing to policy development and program development

Requirements And Skills:

  • Preceptorship and internship in clinical/behavioral psychology, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in applied psychology
  • Knowledge of research design, coding, and report preparation
  • Knowledge of computer applications and statistical packages
  • Knowledge of test development and validation
